Best Copywriting advice from Gary Bencivenga
Gary Bencivenga was one of the only copywriters Gary Harbert feared.
In fact, Gary Harbert said he would never compete against Gary Bencivenga.
Gary Harbert even attended a Gary Bencivenga Copywriting program.
Point is…
Gary Bencivenga is a copywriter every other copywriter MUST listen to.
And this is one secret principle he always followed when writing copy.
Make Your Advertising Valuable.
I've always tried to follow this principle when I write sales copy and emails.
This is why this copywriting principle is super useful.
You see, no one wakes up and says “ I want to read an advertisement on online business today”
Absolutely NO ONE.
(Except weirdos called copywriters and marketers .lol)
The rest of the population don't do that.
Rather, people want to read educational and entertaining content.
They want to read things that'll add value to their lives.
They want to discover new useful information.
Or things that will entertain them.
And that's why a copywriter or marketer must present his copy or advertising in this same format.
You want readers to find something of value ( that is something educational or entertaining) in your copy.
That leads me to the meaning of value.
So what does value mean?
For some of it means:
Educational content- new information, new discovery or just useful information.
For some it means entertainment like stories, history or humour etc
Sometimes one can combine these 2 ideas to create valuable copy or advertising.
In summary, don't forget to make your copy valuable when you're writing copy or creating marketing content.

PS- 95% of my emails and content follow this principle. This email follows the principle too.
Again you can make your copy valuable by being entertaining through storytelling or by sharing useful information.
And I explain how you can learn how to write both ways in my Short Copy Mastery course.
Check it out here.

PPS- There are times being direct in your advertising or copy is what generates maximum results.
But that's a story for another email. :)
